Will Everyone be Caught-Away?

Before, we established what is the taken. But today, let’s examine if everyone will be in the rapture! Who will participate in the caught-up of the Church of Jesus Christ?

Consequently, let’s scrutinize four instances in the Bible when people experienced being snatched away. These include Enoch, Elijah, Philip, and Jesus Christ.

I have written about this, so the following is an excerpt from my latest book, “The Golden Candlestick: The Seven Spirits of God”.

The Lord Takes Enoch

“The Lord raptures Enoch for He takes him. Because God is a Spirit and Enoch a human being the Lord had to change him. Therefore, He translates him into a spirit. Now, both are spirits then He snatches him away. 

What the Lord did for Enoch is exactly what the Holy Ghost will do for the Church. He will change our mortal bodies to immortal ones.

Therefore, Enoch did not die. The Lord “God took him” to heaven (Genesis 5:24).

 “By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God” (Hebrews 11:5).

The Spirit of the Lord Accomplish This

Later, this same Lord shall resurrect, change, and caught-up His church.

Therefore, the Scriptures reveal Enoch as the first person to experience this spiritual and physical phenomenon.

Every aspect of the rapture is an accomplishment of the Spirit of the Lord God.

Change the word that you believe and change your future. Accept this Word of God and participate in this universal gathering of the saints.

I want you to observe the behavior of those “Believers” who refute the rapture. They all possess a common thread of unbelief among them.

If They Reject Him How Could they Possess Him?

They also refuse speaking-in-tongues and they reject the operations of the Holy Ghost in the Church. If they reject Him, how can they possess Him?

Once I was conversing with a woman on my blog. She writes that she has the Holy Ghost but she doesn’t care for the tongues.  But we can’t have one and not the other; they go together.

The physical bodies of humans cannot enter into heaven. It’s a spiritual place. Only angels; other heavenly-creatures; sons of God; and God reside there: they are all spirits.

That’s the reason the Lord changed Enoch before he walked with God. He walked with Him in heaven.

The unbelieving people living in the time of Enoch searched for him after he was taken. But he “was not found” but the righteous ones knew what happened (Hebrews 11:5).

Elijah has a One Way Ticket

Similarly, the Lord caught-up the prophet Elijah into heaven. And for the identical reasons as for Enoch he too was translated then taken up.

“And it came to pass, when the Lord would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal,” (2 Kings 2:1).

Observe also, that Elijah’s imminent rapture is not a secret. Elisha knows about it. At least three different groups of religious folks are also aware that the Lord is about to take him.

At Bethel, the “sons of the prophets” know that the Lord would take Elijah that day, (2 Kings 2:3).

Who Knows About the Taken?

Additionally, those at Jericho and Jordan are also aware of his pending departure.

“And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, knowest thou that the Lord will take away thy master from thy head [today]?

And he answered, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace,” (2 Kings 2:5-6).

In other words, he told them, be silent for I know, as well as you do that today the Lord will take him.

This Prophet Knew About His Caught-up

Similarly, Elijah is aware of his own imminent rapture.

“And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee.

And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me” (2 Kings 2:9).

However, he was unaware of the exact time that the Lord God would catch him away.

As Elijah and Elijah “… went on, and talked, … behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, … [with] horses of fire, [which] parted them both asunder; [so] Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven” (2 Kings 2:11).

What are Your Expectations Concerning The Caught-up?

Similarly, those religious people are cognizant of the season of Elijah’s pending departure but not of the time.

So they watched him with an expectation of seeing it happen. And they are also aware of the role of the Spirit of the Lord in taking him.

Therefore, after the rapture of Elijah they say to Elisha:

“… Behold now, there be with thy servants fifty strong men; let them go, we pray thee, and seek thy master: lest peradventure the Spirit of the Lord hath taken him up, and cast him upon some mountain, or into some valley….” (2 Kings 2:16).

In a similar manner, now Believers know that our rapture is before us but we don’t know when it will transpire.

He Takes Philip as Well

The Spirit of the Lord is also instrumental in the rapture of Apostle Philip.

“And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea” (Acts 8:39-40).

Usually, after the Spirit of God takes a Believer that person is missing. The rapture is permanent and complete.

Philip’s case is different. He only takes him from the eunuch, but he was not taken permanently. Nevertheless, its usage here is pedagogical. It’s to demonstrate the concept of the rapture.

The Lord Takes Jesus

Jesus Christ also experienced a translation before he was taken up into heaven. The change of Enoch and Elijah’s bodies to glorified ones took place immediately before they were raptured. However, Jesus’ translation is consistent with theirs but his timing is different.

Theirs happened while they were alive, but Jesus’ manifested as he rose from the dead. He was resurrected with a glorified and immortal body.

Similarly, the apostles knew of Jesus’ rapture. He told them.

So when the time for the rapture of Jesus came “he was received up into heaven”, just as those before him (Mark 16:19). He needed no immediate or further transformation.

The Bible speaking of Jesus said: “And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven” (Luke 24:50).

Note The Manner of Jesus’ Departure

I like Luke’s other explanation better.

“And when [Jesus] had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight” (Acts 1:9).

The manner of Jesus’ departure from the earth will be similar to his return. He was taken up to heaven quickly and quietly and he shall return in like manner. Only his apostles saw his departure. And only his Believers will participate in his return.

“… Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? [T]his same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven” (Acts 1:11).

The rapture is silent! But the Lord’s second and physical coming will not be, for everyone left on earth will see and experience it. The Church won’t be here.” [1]

Conclusion

The Bible is a spiritual book. Not because we can read doesn’t mean we can all perceive its content. If that were true Jesus wouldn’t need to enlighten his disciples for them to understand the Scriptures, (Luke 24:45).

Similarly, not because we don’t see the word “rapture” in the Bible it doesn’t mean that the notion of it is absent.

The Taken is for Believers. Those who have pleased the Lord. Only born-again Believers who delighted Him and are watchful and waiting for it will participate in the rapture.

That’s why it is so very important that we are all saved according to the true Word of God and not in accordance with someone’s opinion.

How do we Please the Lord God?

Focus on pleasing God. We could only please Him if we obey Him. For, if we don’t make it in the Caught-up, we are forever lost with Satan. Believe this Word and accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.

Then, enjoy eternity with him as he snatches you away just before he makes his second appearance.

Today, accept Jesus Christ as the Son of God and experience it.
