FAQs About The First Resurrection

Sharing is Caring!

Questions About It!

Many people have questions about the First Resurrection. But I think most of those researching it are not Christians.

Seeing that it constitutes one of the basic doctrines of Jesus Christ, the majority of Believers should have had it explained to them in their home assemblies.

However, this Bible study will answer all your frequently asked questions on the First Resurrection in one place.

I shall expound on it, at length for everyone, Christians and unsaved alike.

Who is This For?

Before I explain the First Resurrection, I must exclude some people.

It is for Christians and specifically those who are born-again Believers in Jesus Christ.

It’s not for unbelievers. Neither is it for agnostics, skeptics, and the confused.

However, it’s for Christians who desire to grow in their knowledge of God and Christ and saturate themselves in the hope of eternal life with Christ Jesus!

Those are the people who should read this brief Bible Study.

What is The First Resurrection?

Nevertheless, The First Resurrection is the pinnacle of our hope of eternal life with Christ Jesus our Lord.

It is the supernatural process the Lord God shall use to unite all the “dead in Christ”. These are all those who have died from creation, until the sounding of the Last Trump, with their glorified bodies and living souls.

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first,” (1 Thessalonians 4:16).

Michael, the Arch Angel, will sound “the trump of God” on the day of the First Resurrection.

His voice shall call all the dead in Christ back to life. All the dead will not hear his trumpet only or else all would come to life but only the Christian dead

His voice is so powerful it will accomplish two supernatural things simultaneously.

First, it shall bring all the dead in Christ back to life.

Second, it shall create glorified bodies for them.

“For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.” (1 Corinthians 15:53).

This means that we will possess new bodies. Immortal ones. Not only that, but they shall have the appearance of our previous ones.

Will We Know Each Other?

Therefore, providing us with the ability to identify people we knew by looking at them.

These bodies shall possess the same features as Jesus’ after his resurrection.

He is the First Resurrection. We shall merely follow the example of our leader in this regard.

All this shall occur in nano-seconds.

To put the speed of the First Resurrection in perspective, listen as the Word of God explains it!

“In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed,” (1 Corinthians 15:52).

It will happen in a moment!

Before you could blink your eye, the First Resurrection would have taken place on that day.

When Shall The First Resurrection Happen?

I want you to understand that the holy Lord God, doesn’t leave us guessing about the time of The First Resurrection.

He supplies us with adequate information in the Bible that tells us, exactly when it shall happen.

A humble sister supplies us with more info on this.

Listen as she educates us.

“Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day” (John 11:24).

The Bible informs us that it shall transpire on “the last day”.

She was explaining to Jesus after her brother died, that she knew the Scriptures.

When Is The Last Day?

And they declare that the resurrection shall take place

“at the last day”.

Therefore, she knows that Lazarus shall be resurrected at that time.

But when exactly is the last day?

I have explained this at length in one of my books. If you are interested in the details, I shall leave a link to it below.

Who Shall Be in The First Resurrection?

There will be no people at the First Resurrection. It’s the power of God, via Michael, to translate all the Christian dead into immortal celestial beings like angels.

Listen to Matthew as he tells his story.

“For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven” (Matthew 22:30)

Then to Luke, as he too shares his story!

“Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection” (Luke 20:36).

Thus, we will be alive but not as people as we are now.

The focus of it is the sound of Michael’s trumpet. Two sets of Believers shall hear it.

The dead ones and the living. First, it shall resurrect and transform and raise all the dead ones from the earth.

Then, simultaneously, as the dead ones are rising from the earth, the living ones are translated into immortal begins just like the dead ones.

Together both, the living and the dead, now one, shall rise to meet Jesus in the sky.

These are the living and the dead in Christ.

Where Will The First Resurrection Happen?

It will definitely not happen in the sky but upon the earth.

Did you know that even people who died horrible deaths like being burnt to ashes, eaten by wild animals, or dismembered shall rise from the earth with whole, glorified, and immortal bodies?

But that’s only if they died as Christians.

Why Will The First Resurrection Take Place?

One of the functions of the First Resurrection is to separate all Believers both living and dead from unbelievers.

The Lord, having resurrected them, shall remove them from the earth through the Rapture.

In heaven, we will be with Christ for a millennium! Then the Second Resurrection shall happen.

These would have been brought back to life and reigned a thousand years with Christ before the unbelieving dead are resurrected.

See Revelation 20:1-5.

“But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.”

Second Reason For It!

Another is to provide Believers for the Lord’s entourage as He returns at His Second Advent.

We will return with Him!

Pay attention to the final phrase in the verse below!

“To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints” (1 Thessalonians 3:13).

We will be with Him at his coming.

There is another more fundamental reason for the First Resurrection.

If you desire to know more, I have written at length on this topic in Living Soul.

How Shall The First Resurrection Transpire?

It shall happen very, very, quickly. As people navigate their everyday chores it will strike.

There will be no physical warning sign. It will transpire suddenly.

Christians will be in various positions and situations as they do every day.

Some shall be in the shower; others in bed; some would be driving and others asleep.

Many more are working.

Some praying. Some reading the Bible and talking to others.

You name it and it will be happening at the First Resurrection.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the First Resurrection is the power of God which shall bring all the dead Believers back to life with immortal bodies.

It functions to separate all the Believers from the unbelievers on the earth.

Those who experienced the First Resurrection, then the Second Death have no power over them.

It’s for Christians and shall take place very quickly.

In closing, it also serves to furnish saints who shall be with Christ as he returns to earth the second time.
