Healing Through the Laying on of Hands is Not New!
Healing through the laying on of hands is real. It exists! The life and actions of Jesus Christ; his twelve leaders, and the operations of the Church in the earth supply ample evidence that it exists.
Jairus, one of the rulers of the synagogue, was convinced that the laying on of Jesus’ hands would heal his sick daughter.
He was so certain of this that he went looking for Jesus. Who do you seek for when illness strikes?
When he found Jesus he worshipped him, for “he fell at his feet” (Mark 5:22).
He pleaded “greatly” with Jesus saying:
“My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live” (Mark 5:23).
However, by the time Jesus arrived at Jairus’ house his daughter took a turn for the worst for she died.
This Woman Experienced Healing Through Two Avenues
Despite this, Jesus still laid his hands on her. He went into her bedroom with her parents and three of his disciples.
There he took her by the hand and spoke to her and she lived again. Read Mark 5:41-3.
According to the beloved physician and apostle, Dr. Luke, Jesus laid his hands on a sick woman. For eighteen years she was unable to stand upright, (Luke 13:11).
However, when Jesus saw her he called her to him. She came. He knew of her “infirmity” and he spoke healing words to her. He told her, “Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity” (Luke 13:12).
Then he “laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God” (Luke 13:11-3).
There were times too that Jesus would heal multiple persons by the laying on of hands at the same event.
“Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them” (Luke 4:40).
Many Received Healing Through Jesus Disciples
These include Apostle Paul. He laid his hands on Publius’ father and healed him.
“And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him” (Acts 28:8).
Apostle Peter also laid his hands on the sick and healed them. So too did Paul on many more occasions.
Do you know anyone who has been healed through the laying on of hands in the name of Jesus Christ?
The awesome power of God is available to us too. It’s not only for the First Century Church but for contemporary Believers too.
However, to harness the power of God we must obey Him. Each of us has a responsibility when it comes to the Word of God.

When you hear the Word of God, receive it with joy, believe and obey it. And He will do the rest.
In closing, there are narratives out there of people receiving healing through the laying on of hands. Many Believers are laying hands on thousands, in the name of Jesus Christ, and they are recovering from a diversity of diseases.
There are people out there who received healing from cancer through the laying of Believers hands.
Similarly, the blind sees and the deaf hear because Believers lay hands on them and command healing in the name of Jesus Christ.
Nothing is impossible if you believe in Jesus Christ.
