Prayer of Repentance in the Bible?
Is repentance a prayer; is there such a thing, in the Bible, as a prayer of repentance; who makes it; where to find it, and how could it assist you, a Christian?
When we repent, we do so of a “deed” or an action and infrequently, for many people, of our thoughts.
“Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds” (Revelation 2:22).

Let’s Teach Only What the Bible Teaches!
If there is a prayer of repentance, then I’m assuming that we could pray such a prayer and enjoy repentance.
But I’m having a problem! I’m encountering severe difficulties locating anyone in the Holy Bible who ever achieved that.
To make matters, not worst but complicated and contrary to the Bible, there are no connections between repentance and prayer except in one respect!
Prayer or praying does not motivate, achieve, or invoke repentance or repenting respectively!
Before we explore repentance prayers first, we must possess a sound understanding of repentance according to the Holy Bible.
Let’s learn from examples in our Bible.
Did Judas Iscariot Make Repentance Prayer?
Who in the Scriptures demonstrates this for us to emulate?
Did Jesus utter any prayers of repentance? Where and when?
Which of his apostles prayed any prayer of repentance?
Consider, Judas, the betrayer!
After he betrayed his Master and came to himself, he searched for repentance but couldn’t find it!
“Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders” (Matthew 27: 3).
Repentance does not result in condemnation but justification.
Thus, Judas “saw that he was condemned” revealing that he did not find repentance (Matthew 27:3).

Should Judas Have Made a Prayer of Confession and Repentance?
Even though Judas confessed his sin he still didn’t find repentance. He declared Jesus innocent of all charges.
“Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us[;] see thou to that[?] ” (Matthew 27: 4).
Bear in mind that repentance produces fruits. Additionally, such fruits must be “meet” or appropriate for repentance.
The Scripture immediately below reveals Judas’ fruits. However, from it, we learn that he didn’t find repentance because such fruits are inconsistent with a broken-and-contrite heart before God.
“And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself” (Matthew 27: 5).
So, my question to you today is, did Judas make any repentance prayers?
Since he didn’t, why should you?
Simon Peter’s Prayer of Repentance?
When, would you say, is an appropriate time to repent?
Nevertheless, click the link below to read the biblical time for repentance.
Consider, Simon Peter!
He, the Lord’s most promising disciple, denied three times, in a short duration, having any association with the Lord or possessing any knowledge of him (Matthew 26:69-75).
He, unlike his fellow apostle, Judas, found repentance! We know this because of the fruit of repentance that he produced after his unholy deed.
“And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth” (Matthew 26:71).
“And again [Peter] denied with an oath, I do not know the man” (Matthew 26:72).
“After a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee” (Matthew 26:73).
“Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. Immediately the cock crew” (Matthew 26:74).
“And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. [He] went out, and wept bitterly” (Matthew 26:75).
Repentance is more than being sorry. It goes well beyond remorse.
It’s death to sin!
Where Is Peter’s Deep Repentance Prayer?
Simeon Peter was sorry and remorseful but more than all he died to that deed.
He will never repeat it! We know this from tracing his life through the Scriptures.
When we repent of a deed, we never return to it and we don’t need to pray about it!
After Peter denied his Master three times, did he pray the forgiveness prayer or the prayer of repentance? (Matthew 26:69-75).
No? Then why should you?
Did You Hear the Prayer of Repentance that Saul The Tormentor of the Church Make?
This man “made [havoc] of the church” (Acts 8:3).
But when it pleased the Lord to call him, did he make a prayer of repentance for all his sins?
Which Scriptures record him making repentance prayers or prayers of repentance?
None!
Nada!
Not one!
The Holy Bible is our example; therefore, if it doesn’t mention it, refrain from doing it!
I have shown you that neither Jesus Christ nor any of his disciples mainly, Judas, Peter, or Paul made any prayers of repentance for their sins.
Because there is no such event in the Scriptures.
So, repentance is for whom? The sinner or the saint?
Christians Be Vigilant!
However, did you know that anything, person, or thought that leads you away from the truth of the Word of God is satanic?
He is the force behind such behaviors. Don’t yield to it.
Because he knows that he is doomed to eternal punishment and he desires to have dumb and ignorant Christians with him.
If you don’t know how to truly repent, you will die in your sins. The Lord calls all men everywhere to repentance.
But if Satan has installed his representatives to do his dirty deeds and you believed his tricks, how will you know how to live above sins?
You won’t!
There is no instance in the Holy Word, of any person making prayers of repentance.
How Is Prayer Connected to Repentance?
Additionally, prayer has no connection to repentance. Only to the extent that all repentant persons pray.
But it’s not the prayer that causes repentance. Instead, people who are repentant pray.
The one common thing between prayer and repentance is the heart!
The utterance which comes from the heart to God we call prayer, but the broken heart which turns to God we describe as repentant!
Thus, the Lord always accepts the prayers of the repentant!
Not only that, why would we even pray for repentance? We should never pray for the things we already possess.
Unless it’s a prayer of thanksgiving!
Could You Pray For Repentance Unto Life?
As long as you are hearing and receiving the Word of God you possess the power to repent.
The prayer of repentance doesn’t exist. It’s a figment of minds devoid of the true power of God.
They are agents of darkness and know not the Lord!
They neither know the Lord God nor understand His Word!
Let’s teach only what the Word of God teaches.
Repentance is never a prayer! Neither is feeling sorry for our sins repenting!
We cannot repent by reading a prayer that someone wrote. How could such an utterance enter into our hearts?
I don’t know; you tell me!
Finally, is it possible to pray for repentance unto life? Or in other words, pray for repentance that leads to eternal life with Christ Jesus?
Why Christians Shouldn’t Ignore Deep Repentance Prayer?
Whenever the Holy Bible discusses repentance, its focus is never on sin or sinning.
Therefore, when we teach or preach on repenting, we should never maximize sinning.
Let’s follow its example.
At the center of repentance is the current state of the heart! Is it broken before God or is it hard as that of the Dragon?
To achieve this state there is no prayer for it. It’s the current state of the heart that the Word of God has brought us to.
We cannot achieve this by prayer or free will.
This proliferation of prayer for repentance emanates from ignorance of what the Bible says about repentance.
Soon we may see a prayer of repentance for everything. For example, a prayer for repentance and cleansing; deep repentance prayer, repentance prayer, daily repentance prayer, and whatever other combination the mind could conceive.
Believers, stay away from these nonsense prayers! They are not biblical!
Prayer of Repentance Catholic?
Repentance and prayer have no affiliations, so whether or not your belief is Roman Catholic, Muslim, Buddhist, Christian or Rastafarian, there is no Prayer of Repentance Catholic, Prayer of Repentance Islam, and so on and so forth.
Conclusion
Repentance was never a prayer and it has not evolved into one since Christ’s ascension into heaven.
Thus, the prayer of repentance is a contradiction of deeds. You are either praying or repenting.
None of the Church’s early leaders made any. Not Jesus, not Peter, or Paul, so why should you?
This combined deed does not appear in the Holy Bible in principle or behavior.
It’s a figment of the biblically unlearned mind.
Consequently, nobody in the Scripture made repentance prayers.
Finally, friends and brethren, if you desire to make it into heaven avoid teachings like “Repentance Prayers”. They prevent you from learning how to truly repent and be saved and ultimately hinder you from entering heaven.
It’s a doctrine of the Devil!!
Peace!
